Brewing Kit Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in a standard beer brewing kit?
Most beginner beer brewing kits from Brewshop include a high-quality fermenter, airlock, stick-on thermometer, hydrometer, sanitiser, and bottling equipment. Depending on your choice, some kits also feature a fresh wort pack or a malt extract tin to get your first batch started immediately.
How much beer does a homebrew starter kit produce?
Our standard homebrew starter kits are calibrated for 23-litre batches. This typically yields approximately 60 to 65 standard 330ml bottles—roughly two and a half cases of beer—offering incredible value for NZ homebrewers.
Is it cheaper to use a beer kit than buying retail?
Yes, significantly. Once you own the brewing hardware, you only pay for ingredients. On average, brewing at home costs between $1.00 and $2.50 per litre, which is a massive saving compared to commercial craft beer prices in New Zealand.
